Tim Kienecker is an award-winning composer whose broad musical influences range from “musique concrète instrumental” via spectral music to rock and pop music.

Besides working on intermedia projects and collaborating with different ensembles (such as Asasello Quartett, Ensemble Linea, composers slide quartet) his compositions have been played at international festivals (such as next_generation/ZKM/Karlsuhe, Musicacoustica/Beijing, Instrumenta/Oaxaca) and awarded prizes at international music composition competitions (such as “International Electroacoustic Music Composition Prize Visiones Sonoras”, “International Composition Competition Ensemblia”).

As stage music composer he collaborated with various choreographers and dance companies (such as Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch).

Born in Münster/Germany, Tim Kienecker graduated at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen/Germany. He majored in instrumental and electronic composition and minored in subjects such as classical piano, music informatics, sound engineering and digital/analog sound synthesis (at the ICEM).
